For my first book that I would recommend is
the Twilight book series. I know some of you might be thinking “oh my god,
another fan of twilight”, BUT this is really a good series to read. I remember
sitting in the movie theater seeing the trailer for the twilight movie and not
really paying attention until my friend told me that I should read the book, because
she thought I would really like it. I was unsure at first and really didn't think
of it for a couple of weeks. I went to Borders (when they were still open) and
saw that the first table right when you walked into the store was all about
Twilight. So I decided to give it a chance and bought the book. I read the book
in less than a week. I could not put it down. After reading the book I had to
get the others. I ended up reading all four books within about 2 1/2 weeks. Some
nights I would be up all night, because I could not put it down.
The series is about a human girl (Bella Swan)
who falls in love with a vampire (Edward Cullen). The series is about Bella finding
out that Edward is a vampire and Stephanie Meyer does a great job with letting us
know how Bella is feeling when she finds out that vampires do exist. With
Edward being a vampire it adds the excitement of fantasy. Edward is described as
perfect as a god, something that all of us want. Bella’s best friend Jacob
Black is also hiding a secret that she discovers in the 2nd book New
Moon. The 3rd book Eclipse Bella goes through loving 2 people at once, and the 4th book Breaking Dawn is Bella finally being with the one she always new she loved. Without give away information in case you haven’t read the books or seen
the movies, Stephanie Meyer goes through what it’s like to fall in love, go through a break-up, loving two people at once, and finally being able to be
with the one you truly love in the end. The
love that Bella and Edward have is something that women could only imagine, having
someone love you back as much as you love them. In the books you can actual relate to the relationship as being an adult and remembering what it is like to be young and so in love. (Sounds weird because I am young only 27, but its the only way I could describe it) There is action in each book so its not just a book on oh my I love him so much type. In the books you do meet different vampires who are not like Edward and you learn about rules that vampires have in order to stay hidden from humans.
Twilight has gotten a lot of attention because
of the movies. I think that this is a good love story and the books are a lot
better than the movies (most books are). I think that people have just gotten use to
associating Twilight with the movies, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison, and
the actual love story has been overridden. I think that this is a good book for
young adults because as women can relate to how she is feeling when falling in
love, loving 2 men at once, what it’s like to lose someone, and finally what it
is like when you truly love someone no matter the type of person they are.
These books really show that it is possible to love someone who is different.
